Homecoming & Family Weekend 2021

Homecoming & Family Weekend Schedule

Sunday, October 3

Signature Day of Service

October 3 kicks off Civic Action Week at Pitt and Homecoming Week at Pitt-Johnstown!  We are going to head back to downtown Johnstown as a community and help where needed.  The projects are being determined as we "speak" but we need a count of how many students can help!     We are looking at a 1pm start on Sunday, the 3rd and would only be a couple of hours.

What a way to celebrate our Pitt-Johnstown community by helping the city that we call home!

Monday, October 4

RSO Window Painting and Homecoming Court Voting!

The Registered Student Organization( RSO) and Residence Hall window painting competition is a tradition at Pitt-Johnstown. The clubs/halls interpret the Homecoming Theme to fit their
mission/goals and share what the theme represents to them.  The windows are painted Monday through Thursday in the Student Union.  You must register your club for the project so we know
how many entries we have!  The Alumni Board of Pitt-Johnstown then serves as judges on Friday and the winners are announced at coronation.  $100 in catering credit is given as the prize.

Register your club to participate in the window painting contest here!

Learn more about our Homecoming Court Candidates and Cast your Vote here!  Voting ends at 12pm on Friday, October 8.

Wall Painting

We will be leaving our mark on Homecoming 2021 by painting a mural on the wall near the lower townhouses!  This project was the idea of several alumni last year - and we want to paint it so they can see their idea come to life for their return!  Students will be placing a hand in various paint and putting your hand on the mural.  We will sign them with your graduation years, etc.  We hope that you will help!  Interested in this project? Please contact Abbey Schauf, Coordinator of Campus Activities and Engagement at abs136@pitt.edu

The guys in the band are YOUR backup band, and even sing backup vocals to make YOU the star! Singing is only half the fun! Watching others performing their unique renditions of rock’s greatest songs also contribute to the hilarity. Some singers really belt out the tunes, while others make up for a lack of singing ability with rowdy stage presence. Either way, the irony and humor work on many levels as the band rocks out the songs true to the original recording. Band members can also contribute as back up vocalists and help out with forgotten lyrics.  Please contact Heather Hall at hbh7@pitt.edu if you want to be one of the first ones on stage!
