Best Buddies International is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolations of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
The Best Buddies Chapter at Pitt-Johnstown creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships and leadership opportunities for people with IDD and college students. Our mission at UPJ is to establish meaningful friendships with peers with IDD and share interests, experiences, and activities.
- Habitat For Humanity Campus Chapter

Pitt-Johnstown’s Habitat for Humanity chapter is a non-profit, service-driven campus organization specializing in building houses in areas surrounding Johnstown.
During the annual Spring Break trip, the group travels to help build an ongoing project somewhere in the United States. Assisting with the building of affordable, modern housing for those in need is the main goal for the chapter, along with the self-described "Christian housing ministry," and addressing the issues of poverty housing all over the world.
The group also dedicates time and effort to educate UPJ students on its mission to help local poverty through local volunteer opportunities. Since its inception in 2003, the campus chapter has had over 750 members, logged more than 13,000 hours of volunteer work, and has taken part in 11 Spring Break trips.

A service-based club dedicated to creating events and fundraisers to help the community. Anticipated programs include:
- a basket raffle that will benefit needy children and
- a school supply drive for the Greater Johnstown School District.
