Condolences for Dayna Daugherty, junior nursing major

It is with profound sadness that I write to inform our campus community that Pitt Johnstown junior nursing major, Dayna Daugherty, passed away on March 2, 2021.

Faculty and fellow nursing students remember Dayna as a beloved and dedicated student who aspired to use her immense talents and passion to make a difference in the nursing field.

“Dayna was an exceptionally kind and caring student,” said Elizabeth Katrancha, Associate Professor of Nursing and Program Coordinator. ”She was dedicated to becoming a registered nurse and was working diligently to achieve her dreams. The entire department will miss her.”

On behalf of the Pitt Johnstown community, I send condolences and sympathy to Dayna’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Students and other campus community members who may benefit from grief counseling during this difficult period are encouraged to reach out to the Counseling Services team by phone at (814) 269-7119 or via email at
