Campus Police

The Pitt-Johnstown Campus Police continue to maintain close contact with law enforcement agencies. Faculty, staff, and students can assist the Pitt-Johnstown Campus Police in making our campus community as safe as possible by reading and following the suggestions on our Safety Tips page. Situations reported to the Pitt-Johnstown Campus Police are promptly and thoroughly addressed.

Additional services provided by Campus Police include

  • Preventing, detecting, and investigating of violations of University policy
  • Assisting vehicle lock-outs and battery jumps
  • Parking assignment; crowd and traffic control
  • Dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance 24 hours a day
  • Work with Quick Response Services and Emergency Medical Technicians
  • Admission to academic buildings
  • Transport to medical facilities
  • Coordinate key control
  • Communicate directly with 911 for emergencies
  • Registration of bicycles
  • Monitor campus alarms
  • Conduct crime prevention training programs, fire safety education, alcohol and drug awareness, hazardous materials awareness programs
  • Oversee firearms registration and storage
  • Crime Prevention training and awareness
  • Provide safety escort service
  • Maintain lost and found
