The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown maintains an extensive information technology infrastructure to ensure access to state-of-the-art technology for all members of the campus community in computer laboratories, classrooms, and offices. The department focuses on five specialty units: Information Systems, Mail Room, Printing Services, Technical Services, and User Services.

Meet the IT Staff

Winter Recess: December 19, 2020 thru January 3, 2021

Winter recess for faculty and staff (including the staff of Pitt-Johnstown Information Technology) will be observed from Saturday, December 19, 2020 through Sunday, January 3, 2021.

Users experiencing urgent technology problems are encouraged - as usual - to submit a Pitt-Johnstown Information Technology Support Desk Ticket ( ).

PJIT staff will be reviewing tickets periodically during the recess and will reach out as soon as possible.

Pitt-Johnstown Information Technology will return to normal operations on Monday, January 4, 2021.


Network Resources and Instructions

The University provides wireless and wired network access to University students, faculty, and staff.  The service is fast, secure, easy-to-use. The following resources provide details for these network services.

Information Systems

Information Systems is responsible for the collection, processing, storage, transmission, display, and dissemination of information. Information Systems staff work with both university-wide and local data systems to support the academic and business operations of the campus. 

Technical Services

Technical Services installs and maintains hardware and system components of the campus’ computers and telephones. This expansive system includes computers, printers, and other electronic technology used in offices, computer laboratories, and classrooms. Staff also work to ensure the integrity of these systems and administer all system upgrades.

User Services

User Services is responsible to students, faculty, and staff for direct customer support and facilities operations.

Printing Services

Printing Services, commonly called the Print Shop, provides high-quality, low-cost printing for academic departments, administrative offices, faculty, and staff. Both color and black/white printing are available in a variety of  sizes, formats, and binding options.

Mail Room

Mail Room provides limited post office services for students, faculty, and staff.
