Community Relations and Civic Engagement

Honor Roll

The Office of Community Relations and Civic Engagement is a bridge connecting the Greater Johnstown community with Pitt-Johnstown’s faculty, staff, and students. This newly established department was created in direct response to needs identified as part of Pitt-Johnstown’s recent strategic planning process. The office works to develop, sustain, and enhance programming that has a positive community impact and engages the Pitt-Johnstown community in service.

Our services include:

  • Supporting and selecting appropriate initiatives that improve the Greater Johnstown community.
  • Supporting civic participation and greater engagement by our campus in local and regional communities.
  • Strengthening partnerships with local and regional organizations that enhance the Greater Johnstown community.
  • Identifying and publicizing key ways the university is contributing to the community’s progress.
  • Developing and offering signature programs including the Great Americans Day Citizenship Forum, Pitt-Johnstown @ Your Service Week, PITT-nic in the Park, the LearningPLUS Program, and the Help, Understanding, Guidance, and Support (HUGS) Program.
