Mountain Cat Dual-Enrollment Program

Take College Classes While Still in High School

Pitt-Johnstown has a commitment to excellence in every facet of our operation and looks for the same commitment to excellence from our applicants. Our aim is to reach out to exemplary students who have achieved in the areas of academics, leadership, involvement, service, and teamwork. As a result of their drive to excel, these students can access varying approaches to their transition between high school and college, their path to the real world. Pitt-Johnstown wishes to congratulate and accommodate these amazing students by offering two different options of early enrollment for accelerated high school students.

The Mountain Cat Dual-Enrollment Program is designed for accelerated high school students who wish to enroll in one or more courses at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. The chosen coursework is completed while still attending high school. The classes may be taken during the Fall Term (late August - mid-December), Spring Term (January - April), or during Summer Sessions. Courses are typically selected from the introductory level of college offerings in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. The program is generally available to students who have completed the junior year of high school.  However, in cases where the application is appropriately supported, students who are high school juniors may also be approved for the Mountain Cat Dual-Enrollment Program.
