12. Thinking of Changing Your Major?

Interests and ambitions change. You may have listed a particular major back when you first applied for admission, but now have a different idea. Or, you listed “Undecided” then and now have a major in mind, or you listed a major and now want to be “Undecided.”

If you are thinking about changing your major, you can notify us and we can make the change. We would like to make the change official as early as possible so that you are assigned to the appropriate summer Orientation program (see No. 13).

Generally, changing majors is a simple process, but for certain majors such as Nursing or Engineering, your application may need to be reevaluated.

If you are interested in changing your major prior to May 1, you will need to contact the Admissions Welcome Center at 855-LIKE-UPJ.

After May 1, you can still make a major change, but you will need to contact the Registrar’s Office at 814-269-7055.
