Jennifer Cacciotti, PhD

Assistant Professor of Nursing

Dr. Jennifer Cacciotti joined the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown faculty in 2015 as an adjunct clinical instructor and became full-time member in Spring 2016.

Dr. Jennifer Cacciotti’s research emphasis is in the area of women’s health and diabetes focusing on risk-taking behaviors, contraceptive use, and sexually transmitted infections. She has been published in the Research Journal of Women’s Health, Diabetes, Diabetes Care and The Diabetes Educator. She has worked as a school nurse, in medical-surgical nursing and continues to work in labor delivery at UPMC Altoona. She is a member of Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), Sigma Theta Tau International and Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS).

She completed her Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing (women’s health) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing in 2015.  Dr. Cacciotti began her nursing career as a graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s in nursing degree in 1997, master’s degree in education from St. Francis University in 2003, master’s degree in nursing education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2006.
