Michael L. Bodolosky, MS

Mr. Bodolosky joined the faculty at Pitt-Johnstown in 1993 and acts as Director of Bands, Conductor for the Musical Theatre Productions, and Instructor of Music.

He is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he earned both a BS and an MEd in music education.

A native of Laureldale, Pa., Mr. Bodolosky retired as Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chairperson for the Richland School District. His bands have performed extensively in Europe and throughout the United States, including at Walt Disney World and the Florida Citrus Bowl. Mr. Bodolosky has served as State Chair of Public Relations for Music in Our Schools Month, and served three terms as District 6 President for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association.

He was the recipient of the Pennsylvania Music Educators 1987 and 2002 “Citation of Excellence in Teaching” and is listed in “Who’s, Who Among American Teachers.”  Mr. Bodolosky was the recipient of the Bottle Work's Arts Center 2007 Artist's Hall of Fame Award and the Johnstown Chamber of Commerce's 2009 Cultural Affairs Award. 

He is a member of Phi Beta Mu, the National School Bandmasters Fraternity, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the National Honorary Music Fraternity.  Mr. Bodolosky is founder and leader of the “Jazz In Your Face Big Band,” an 18-piece jazz band dedicated to jazz education, entertaining audiences through regular appearances in the Greater Johnstown area, Western Pennsylvania, and annually at the Flood City Music Festival. He is active as a clinician, adjudicator, guest conductor, and freelance musician.

In addition to his teaching and performing duties, Mr. Bodolosky also serves as the Executive Director for the Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center.
