Mrs. Zakrzwski came to Pitt-Johnstown after a career in public accounting in which she obtained experience in auditing, tax preparation, accounting services, and consulting. Her focus within the audit area was in government and nonprofit organizations. She has continued her contacts in public accounting not only in providing external consulting services, but also to maintain currency in the field of financial accounting, auditing, and governmental accounting.
Mrs. Zakrzwski has an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh (with a focus on information systems) as well as a Masters in Information Systems from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Zakrzwski currently is an online instructor for The Becker Review Course. Her responsibilities are to maintain contact with students via the Becker internet portal, update students on the CPA exam, post discussions and lecture notes, and monitor day-to-day activities of the students.
Mrs. Zakrzwski is responsible for a variety of accounting classes at Pitt-Johnstown. Similar to public accounting, she focuses on financial and governmental accounting.
Mrs. Zakrzwski is active in the Pitt-Johnstown Accounting Alumni Advisory Board (AAAB). In addition to being a Pitt-Johnstown alumna, she encourages Pitt-Johnstown accounting alumni to join the Board and become active in the AAAB's Job Fair that is held each fall term.
Mrs. Zakrzwski is a member of the American Institute of CPA's, the Pennsylvania Institute of CPA's, the Institute of Management Accountants, the American Accounting Association, the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants, the National Business and Professional Women's Club, and the Johnstown Business and Professional Women's Club.
