Landmark Website Overhaul Completed

Dear Pitt-Johnstown community:

I am thrilled to inform you that our year-long project to overhaul, redesign, and completely rebuild our website is finished. As you can imagine, this was no small undertaking. Since the beginning of last summer, numerous members of our university community worked diligently to facilitate construction of our new website. There were meetings with faculty, staff, and students and various consultations with campus departments, to allow us to develop a website that truly reflects our campus input and presents our university in an exceptionally strong way. Dozens of meetings, hundreds of hours of work, and multiple revisions of all sections of the website have combined to bring us to this point.

As you visit the website, you will see that it achieves our objectives of creating a contemporary, user-friendly website that effectively communicates the distinctiveness of our people, our programs, and our place, and above all our educational mission. With about 4,000 individual pages, pictures, videos, and other graphic elements, the new website creates an exceptional, digital entrance to the University.

In closing, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the members of our community (particularly the hard working members of the web site review team) who worked extraordinarily hard on this landmark project. Our work is not done; a website is an evolving medium that requires constant attention, updating and refreshing. We intend to improve upon our website to ensure it remains informative, innovative, and fresh.
