Two members of the Pitt-Johnstown staff have been recognized for their exemplary service to UPJ and the community. UPJ Registrar Marilyn Alberter and Director of Financial Aid Jeanine Lawn are this year’s recipients of the President’s Staff Awards for Excellence in Service.
Mrs. Alberter, who joined UPJ in 1985, was the recipient of the President’s Staff Award for Excellence in Service to UPJ. A driving force behind the successful implementation of PeopleSoft on campus, Mrs. Alberter consistently explores better ways to serve students, faculty, and staff.
She is a member of the UPJ Staff Activities and Concerns Association and serves on the Enrollment Management and First-Year Experience Task Force, and the UPJ Facilities, Infrastructure, and Technology Task Force.
Mrs. Alberter’s commitment to service and to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown family is commendable. Her ‘can-do’ attitude has transformed the Registrar’s Office into one that is student-centered and always cheerful.
Mrs. Lawn, who began her career at UPJ in 2000, was the recipient of the President’s Staff Award for Excellence in Service to the Community.
Mrs. Lawn was recognized for her involvement in numerous service projects including Habitat for Humanity, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Arthritis Foundation, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the ALS Association.
Through her volunteerism, Mrs. Lawn has shown the high value placed on community service as she serves as an inspiration to those around her.
