PSAC Champion Volleyball Team Honored

Pitt-Johnstown’s 2017 PSAC championship volleyball team players and coaches were honored in a campus ceremony on December 6, 2017.

victory bellStudents, staff, and faculty attended the event outside of the Student Union. President Jem Spectar acknowledged the team’s accomplishments.

The ceremony included the ringing of the Victory Bell (photo at right), the lighting of the goodwill arches in University Square, and a fireworks display.

The Mountain Cats compiled a 27-9 record and won the PSAC tournament by defeating Gannon in five sets on November 18. Pitt-Johnstown’s season ended last week in the NCAA Atlantic Region Semifinals.

The team is coached by Joanna Haupt, who has been twice recognized in the past as PSAC East Coach of the Year. Justin Haupt, her husband, is assistant coach and a Pitt-Johnstown graduate.

Team members include: Maura Brehl, Gabriell Carney, Noelle Carota, Marissa Erminio, Anna Johns, Coco Kordenbrock, J.C. Longeville, Kendall Mahony, Logan McIntosh, Allison Mondorff, Devan Orr, Tatiana Pitcher, Delaney Roman, Caitlin Vrabel, and Cambria Wierman.
