The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown’s new website launched today, after a year-long project to overhaul, redesign, and completely rebuild it. This marks the first major redesign of the Pitt-Johnstown website since 2004.

Since the beginning of last summer, numerous members of the university community worked diligently to facilitate construction of Pitt-Johnstown’s new website. Through meetings with faculty, staff, and students and various consultations with campus departments, a website was developed that truly reflects campus input and presents the University in an exceptionally strong way. Dozens of meetings, hundreds of hours of work, and multiple revisions of all sections of the website have combined to bring the University to this point.

Visitors will notice that the website achieves the objectives of creating a contemporary, user-friendly website that effectively communicates the distinctiveness of Pitt-Johnstown’s people, programs, and place, and above all educational mission. Within this objective, the University focused on availability in mobile formats, ease of navigation, convenient organizations of helpful content, customizable experiences, and the celebration of the great achievements of our students, alumni, faculty, and staff. With about 4,000 individual pages, pictures, videos, and other graphic elements, the new website creates an exceptional digital entrance to the University.

President Jem Spectar said, “I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the members of our community who worked extraordinarily hard on this landmark project. Our work is not done; a website is an evolving medium that requires constant attention, updating, and refreshing. We intend to improve upon our website to ensure it remains informative, innovative, and fresh.”

Visitors are encouraged to peruse the website and see the new Pitt-Johnstown. Feedback is welcomed on our Facebook page or by clicking “Contact Web Manager” located at the bottom of every page.
