Gladys K. Go, a Human Resource and Compliance Director and Senior Tax Advisor, earned her BA in business with concentration in accounting and a minor in computer science from Pitt-Johnstown in 1992. Gladys has been involved with the Pitt-Johnstown Alumni Association for 16 years. She would like to best serve Pitt-Johnstown alumni and the Alumni Association by networking with students and fellow alums, as well as attending events. Her favorite events that the Alumni Association holds are networking events. In her spare time, she loves to travel.
William Crowe joined the Martella Group, LLC in December 2016, as Chief Financial Officer for the group and all affiliated companies. He earned his BA in Business and Economics from Pitt-Johnstown in 1978. Bill also has an MBA from Lehigh University, earned in 1983. Bill has been involved with the Alumni Association for over 30 years. He feels that all activities of the alumni association contribute to the betterment of the University, but is especially proud of the Scholarship Endowment the Alumni Association had developed. Bill feels he can best serve Pitt-Johnstown with his service on various committees. He enjoys the Mountain Cat Basketball Tournament and Homecoming activities the best. Bill is a veteran of the United States Army Medical Corps. (First Cavalry Division) He enjoys reading, genealogy research, sports and spending time with his family. He has especially enjoyed traveling with his wife Donna, and children Lindsey and Will.
Katherine E. Rutledge is a Social Studies teacher at Conemaugh Valley Junior/Senior HS. She earned her BA in History from Pitt-Johnstown in 2008. She has been involved with the Alumni Association for 5 years. She hopes to serve Pitt-Johnstown and the Alumni Association by working to create fun events to bring alumni back to the campus and connect with Pitt-Johnstown after graduation. Her favorite event that the Alumni Association held was the Progressive Dinner. In her spare time, Katherine volunteers as a Girl Scout Junior Leader, is the advisor of the Student Council and National Honor Society, and is the Assistant Swim Coach for Westmont High School. She also enjoys reading and traveling. Katherine is married to Jonathan Rutledge.
Douglas Ledney a Federal Programs Coordinator at Windber Area School District and an Adjunct Instructor/University Supervisor in the Pitt-Johnstown Education Division, earned his BS in elementary education from Pitt-Johnstown in 1987. Doug has been involved with the Alumni Association since January 2013. He feels that he can best serve Pitt-Johnstown alumni and the Alumni Association with his continued involvement with the Education Division Alumni Group. Also, by assisting the Alumni Association in any way that he can to further benefit the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and the students. His favorite events that the Alumni Association holds are homecoming events. In his spare time, Doug is a sports and classic car enthusiast.
Barbara Wissinger Berk, earned her BS in elementary education from Pitt-Johnstown in 1978 and her MEd from the Pitt Main Campus in 1982. She is currently the Vice President of JB Associates, an enterprise transformation and education consulting firm. A Lifetime Member of the Alumni Association, Barbara has been involved with the association for over 30 years. She would like to strengthen the bond between alumni by recommending Alumni Association opportunities that ensure alumni participation is meaningful and enduring. Her favorite alumni event is Homecoming. In her spare time she enjoys nature photography, antiquing, tutoring and volunteer work. Barbara is married to John P. Berk and has two sons, Anthony and Vincente.
Susan Blazosky, a teacher, earned her degree in Secondary Education-Math from Pitt-Johnstown in 1991. She has been involved with the Alumni Association since 1991. She feels she will best contribute to Pitt-Johnstown and the Alumni Association with her time and by helping on various projects as often as possible. Her favorite event that the Alumni Association holds is the Dinner Theatre. In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Beth Freedline is a proud Pitt-Johnstown graduate, who received a BA in Communication in 2008. She is currently Executive Assistant to the Chef Executive Officer at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and is also entering her second 3rd year term with the Alumni Association. She is delighted to be back on the board to serve both the alumni and current students of UPJ. The Alumni Association event that Beth looks forward to each year is the Mountain Cat Tournament, as it is an opportunity for the best basketball players in the region to play against each other on the beautiful campus of Pitt-Johnstown (which in her mind cannot be beat). Beth enjoys biking, gardening and walking on local trails with her husband. Beth has stated that she would like to serve the Pitt-Johnstown alumni by helping “to make sure that future students have the chance to experience, learn and grow at Pitt Johnstown for years to come. Pitt Johnstown played a huge role in my development and in molding me to the person I am today. I also believe that Pitt Johnstown plays a major part in making this region great. I can't wait to see what's in store for the campus and the region.”
Jacqueline M. Ivock is currently the Coordinator of Physical Plant Operations at Pitt Johnstown. Prior to beginning this role five years ago, she worked as a paralegal with a local law firm as her first job out of UPJ in 1988, when she achieved a BA in Sociology. Jacqueline serves as the President of the Staff Association Council, member of Planning committee for Staff Professional Day, member of Resource Advisory Group for Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, member of Emergency Planning Group –Pitt Johnstown, member of Pitt Johnstown Board of Advisors Fundraising committee, member Windber Health Care Foundation Auxiliary, Proctor-Professional Test Administration for SAT Board, member review committee – Staff Professional Development Award of Ronald W. Frisch, member of staff and faculty candidate interview panel, and partner member – Laurel Auto Group – Turn Town Teal. She would like to support and strengthen the relationship between alumni and current students. Jacqueline is married to Tony Ivock and has four children: Maggie, Spencer, Victoria and Blake.
Rita King is a retired teacher from the Ferndale Area School District, and a retired certified aerobic dance and fitness instructor; where she choreographed programs and conducted classes. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Throughout her career, Rita was awarded the American Association University Women (AAUW) Outstanding Woman Award, the Y.M.C.A Leader’s Club Aerobic Award, and the Who’s Who among America’s Teachers Award. Rita has been a member of the Greater Johnstown Tennis Association since the 1970s. She volunteers in many community organizations and is a Lifetime Alumni Association Gold Member and is willing to help various committees with their projects.
Jeffrey Kubay a senior attorney, earned his BA in political science and an international studies certificate from Pitt-Johnstown in 1992. Jeff has been involved with the Alumni Association for three years. He would like to provide the alumni, particularly the Pittsburgh-area alumni, with a continued voice in their alma mater and strengthen their bond to this excellent institution. He also wants to increase Association membership or even just alumni involvement in college-related activities. His favorite events that the Alumni Association holds are homecoming events. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, fantasy football, and anything outdoors. Jeff has three children: Andy, Matthew, and Katie.
Cliff Maloney Jr. is the national President of Young Americans for Liberty (YAL), a non-profit based in Arlington, VA. YAL's mission is to identify, educate, train, and mobilize youth activists committed to winning on principle. Cliff oversees YAL's 50 state operation with over 900 college chapters across the United States. He earned his B.S. Middle Level Education and B.A Theatre Arts from Pitt-Johnstown in 2014. Cliff has been a part of the Alumni Association since November 2014. He enjoys dedicating his time to ensure that all alumni enjoy their experience as a proud Mountain Cat.
Nancy Rottler, director, opportunity SVC/Act 101/Student Support Services (SSS-TRiO), and a Saint Vincent CollegeAssistant Professor/Boyer School, earned her BA in business economics: management with a minor in communication from Pitt-Johnstown in 1990. She then furthered her education earning both her Master of Arts from IUP in student affairs in higher education and her D.Ed. in administration and leadership studies. It wasn’t long after Nancy graduated from Pitt-Johnstown that she became involved with the alumni association. She enjoys attending the Alumni Gala and meeting alumni at the annual Pittsburgh mixer. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, traveling, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Panthers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jonathan Rutledge teaches AP U.S. and European History as well as Gifted Education at Westmont Hilltop High School. He earned his degree in secondary education for social studies from Pitt-Johnstown in 2000.He has been involved with the Alumni Association for 3 years. He hopes to serve Pitt-Johnstown and the Alumni Association by helping the board bring community attention to everything that the Alumni Association does for the Pitt-Johnstown community, and being a part of the process that makes UPJ relevant to its alumni. His favorite event that the Alumni Association holds is the Alumni Gala. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys snowboarding, golfing, and traveling. He is married to Katherine Rutledge.
Edward Sheets an Income Maintenance Caseworker for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, earned his BA in communication from Pitt-Johnstown in 2012. Ed has been involved with the Alumni Association since July 2017. He would like to help further promote events and activities to fellow alumni. His favorite events the Alumni Association holds are the Mountain Cat Tournament and Homecoming. In his spare time, Ed enjoys attending sporting events (especially Pitt Football games) and traveling. He also serves as a member of the game night staff for the Johnstown Tomahawks and is the secretary/webmaster of Alma Lodge #523, I.O.O.F. and Bethany Presbyterian Church.
Shelby Smith currently works as a Data Scientist doing Predictive Analytics and Data Management for a non-profit called MRF. She graduated in December 2015 from Pitt-Johnstown with a BS in psychology and a dual minor in communication and political science. This is her first term on the Board of Directors. She looks forward to continually giving back to the school that has given her years of opportunities and memories.
Mark Stephens is a Patton Borough Councilman and Executive Assistant at Cambria County Commissioners Office, he earned his BA in Political Science and Communication from Pitt-Johnstown in 2014. He has been involved with the Alumni Association since he graduated from our illustrious institution in July 2014. He hopes to serve Pitt-Johnstown and the Alumni Association in any way he can. Mark enjoys serving on the Alumni Association board as he has the opportunity to recruit and interact with new and current students. He is looking forward to working on fundraisers that benefit the Alumni Association and the Save the Log Cabin project. His favorite event that the Alumni Association holds is the Homecoming picnic and the Christmas Basketball tournament held every year. In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing golf and being involved with his community.
Luke joined the Alumni Association in July of 2015 and is currently the Assistant Director of the Center for Student Engagement at Saint Francis University. He earned his BA in Communication from Pitt-Johnstown in 2014. He went on to receive an MS in Organizational Leadership in 2016. Luke is also the Club Baseball coach and is pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration at Saint Francis. Luke's favorite alumni events are Homecoming and the Mountain Cat Tournament. He would like to increase membership of the Alumni Association, and assist in creating beneficial relationships between Pitt-Johnstown students and working professionals, specifically alumni. In his spare time Luke coaches the B. Hale Boilers in the Johnstown Colt League.
Christian Patrick Woo, Esq. is an attorney who is licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio. Christian earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), summa cum laude, with minors in Creative Writing and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 2013. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, he continued his education by earning his Juris Doctor (J.D.), cum laude, and Master of Laws (LL.M.) degrees concurrently from Ohio Northern University in 2016. As a new member of the Board of Directors, he is willing to help out with any and all committee activities, and is eager to give back to the university that has already done so much for him. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing, working out, and cheering on all of the Pittsburgh sports teams. Hail to Pitt!
Benedict G. Vinzani, Jr., Ph.D is a Municipal Consultant with the Borough of Somerset, now Retired Somerset Borough Manager. Ben earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 1974. He has served four separate terms with the Alumni Association Board beginning in the 1980’s. Ben has stated that he would like to serve the Pitt-Johnstown alumni and the Alumni Association by meeting with and mentoring Pitt-Johnstown students who are considering careers in local government or public service. Ben’s favorite event that the Alumni Association holds is Homecoming. His hobbies include restoring old bikes and driving his 1974 VW Super Beetle. Ben is married to Marjorie Vinzani and they have two children together, Benedict IV and Joyce. They also have two grandchildren, Kaleigh and Benedict V.
