     08/28/08...The Pitt Johnstown women's soccer team battled back from a 1-0 deficit to tie the score on Alicia Zack's (Irwin, Pa.) first half goal in Thursday's  2008 season opener, but California University (PA) answered with the game-winner in the 79th minute to earn a 2-1 victory in Head Coach Jim Herlinger's debut at the helm of the Lady Cat program...      08/22/08...Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team is picked to finish eighth in the 2008 Preseason WVIAC Coaches Poll.  Wheeling Jesuit and Charleston, squads that have combined to win the past nine WVIAC regular season titles, are the top picks in 2008.  Pitt Johnstown (15-15, 9-9) returns 10 of 11 players that saw significant action last season.  The Lady Cats, who advanced to the WVIAC Quarterfinals in 2007, will be led by hitters Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) and Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.)...      08/22/08...The Pitt Johnstown men’s soccer team, under Head Coach Eric Kinsey (9th year), enters the 2008 season with high expectations after last season’s successful campaign.  The Mountain Cats finished 2007 at 10-7-3 and reached the semi-finals of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) post season tournament in their first year of eligibility in the conference and ranked 8th in the final Appalachian.  Ten incoming freshmen will join 18 returning players.  Among the 18 returning players are 16 lettermen, eight starters and four All-WVIAC selections.  Also returning for his second season is Assistant Coach  Brian Galiote...
