Why did you come to UPJ?
I was interested in the Pitt system, but wasn't sure about UPJ...I stayed because I love the people and the campus. It's absolutely beautiful and peaceful and it's a wonderful place to start planning the rest of my life. UPJ has already afforded me more opportunities to succeed than I could have imagined.
How do you think UPJ has prepared you for your future?
Being alone for the first time so far from home has really helped me discover who and what I am. The faculty and staff at UPJ have always been willing to help me in any way possible to grow and succeed, both academically and personally. My advisor has been great, meeting with me several times a year to discuss possible careers and what I should do to prepare for the future. I am now surer than ever that I am heading toward a bright future in a field I will love!
What has been your most outstanding UPJ experience?
I can't really pick any one experience to say it was my "most outstanding" - so many come to mind. I suppose what stands out most about UPJ is the diversity of the students and faculty on campus. I'm from a very small town. At UPJ I've found people from all walks of life who are willing to engage in stimulating debate. The diversity of thoughts and ideas have really expanded my views.
