Why did you choose UPJ?
I applied to four schools during my senior year of high school, but when I toured UPJ, I immediately fell in love with the campus and the welcoming atmosphere. UPJ has a strong Natural Science department, which was important to me. The Psychology Department focuses on all aspects of the field, including research.
How has it helped you - personally or academically?
Living away from home, I've gained so much self-confidence. I'm much more open to trying new things. I joined several campus organizations and have made many new friends, in addition to making some valuable connections and taking advantage of the campus and resources.
What has been your most outstanding UPJ experience?
My most outstanding experience by far has been working as a Resident Assistant. It has been so rewarding to interact with the resident students, plan programs for them, and watch them become more self-sufficient as they settle in to campus life. As a psychology major, this experience will help open doors for me in my field of study.
