Application Process

At the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown we want our admissions process to reflect the educational environment and personal dimension of the institution. Admission is competitive, but is not based solely on a minimum test score or grade average. We develop a composite profile of each applicant, considering aptitude, achievement, personal interest, strengths and weaknesses.

Specific application procedures have been established in the following sections for students seeking admission to UPJ.

Freshman Applicants
High school graduates interested in part-time or full-time studies.
Transfer Applicants
High school graduates who have earned at least 12 credits at another institution.
Adult Applicants
Students who are 21 years or older and are interested in part-time or full-time studies.
Reinstated Applicants
Students who have been enrolled at UPJ, regardless of term or year, and are considering returning for part-time or full-time studies.
Visiting Applicants
Students who are enrolled at another institution and are interested in taking a limited number of credits at UPJ.
Accelerated High School Applicants
High school students (typically seniors) who are interested in accelerating their education.
International Applicants
Students who are not U.S. citizens or Permanent Resident Aliens.
