Creative Writing
The emphasis in Creative Writing develops students’ imaginative writing talents and offers intensive study in a variety of traditional and contemporary genres, including:
poetry
the short story
creative nonfiction and the personal essay
playwriting
Most students begin to focus on a specific genre their Junior or Senior year and finish their UPJ career by enrolling in our Advanced Seminar in Writing or undertaking an Independent Study with a faculty member.
