Pitt-Johnstown Leadership Development: A Journey, Not a Destination

The Pitt-Johnstown Leadership Development certificate program is designed to provide students with leadership competencies, experience and the opportunity to become a positive change agent in our campus community.  Because leadership must be practiced to be learned, our program provides many avenues for you to develop in six fundamental areas.

The Leadership Development Program is based upon the following core areas:

  1. Self-Awareness
  2. Connections with Others
  3. Diversity
  4. Problem Solving
  5. Leadership Styles
  6. Civic Engagement

Certificate Objectives:

  • To develop self-awareness and connect with others through the development of your leadership style and leadership mission statement
  • To learn how your leadership style compliments a host of academic majors
  • To apply problem solving skills to case study examples
  • To develop an appreciation for differing leadership styles
  • To analyze your leadership style when serving both as a leader and a follower
  • To engage in ongoing self reflection of your developing leadership style

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown offers numerous Leadership Development programs, both Fall and Spring semesters.  By attending the following, you will earn a certificate in Leadership Development from the Office of Student Life.

Students can enroll in the Pitt-Johnstown Leadership Development program at any time.
