Upper-Division Housing Descriptions

All upper-division housing is assigned to students on a “seniority in housing” basis.

Living and Learning Center (LLC)

Room Size: 12' x 14'

Space under beds: 11 3/4"

The LLC houses 400 upper-division students. There are two to three students per room. Each room in the LLC has a private bathroom containing a shower, toilet, sink, and vanity area. The rooms are air-conditioned and are provided with oak furnishings. The beds are bunkable. However, maintenance personnel must bunk them because they are large and are very heavy. Students can request to have their beds bunked by calling extension 7130. Each room also has a MicroFridge. The LLC facility has a recreation room, fitness room, sauna, laundry room, and various meeting and study rooms. There is also a dining hall in the LLC called The Varsity Cafe. It is a fully equipped dining hall that is open to all students.


Lodges

Room Size: 12’5" x 15’7"

Space under beds: 11 1/4"

 

South Lodges: Buckhorn and Sunset

North Lodges: Briar, Foxfire, Hawthorn, Heather, and Larkspur

 

The Lodges offer a unique community living experience to recognized clubs and organizations and to independent students. The Lodges feature two-room suites with a private vanity and an adjoining shower/toilet facility. In addition, each Lodge has at least one large lobby or gathering place for its residents. Lodges accommodate groups ranging in size from eight to thirty-two residents. Each room is equipped with a MicroFridge. North Lodge rooms are carpeted, whereas South Lodge rooms are not. All lobby areas are carpeted. All lobby areas contain the following University furniture: end table, coffee table, loveseat, and chair. Laundry rooms are available in the basements of several lodges. North Lodges have a community exercise room in the basement of Hawthorne Lodge and a study room in the basement of Briar Lodge. South Lodges have a community room with a working fire place in the basement of Buckhorn Lodge.


Townhouses

Forty-four Townhouse apartments offer more independent living. Each has two bedrooms, one and one half baths, a living room, and a kitchen/dining area. The kitchens have full stoves, refrigerators, and a kitchen table and chair set. The Living room comes with a University loveseat, chair, end table, coffee table, and torch lamp. Each bedroom contains one bed, dresser, closet, desk, and chair per student.  Each townhouses accommodates five students.


College Park Apartments (CPA)

Space under beds: 11 1/4"

 

CPA is located adjacent to campus at the nearest intersection. A four-story complex, CPA offers additional autonomy. Each apartment features one or two bedrooms; one, one and a half, or two baths; a living room; kitchen; and ample closet space. In addition, most apartments feature a sliding glass door that leads to either a balcony or patio. The kitchens have full stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashers. Each bedroom contains one desk, chair, dresser, and bed per student. The living room is carpeted and the University provides a torch lamp, a loveseat, a coffeetable, and an end table.


Willow Hall

Single Room Size: Approximately 10' x 10'

Double Room Size: Approximately 17' x 10'

Space under beds: 10 1/4"

This  new residence facility houses 108 students in suite-style living. Twelve suites will house four students in a private room. The remaining twelve suites will house five students in three private rooms and one double bedroom. The suites include two bathrooms, a common living room, a shared storage closet, and a kitchenette. Amenities include a cable and data port in each bedroom and the living room. The suite will have one phone number to share among the four or five residents. The kitchenette contains cabinetry, a sink, microwave, and full-sized refrigerator. Each bathroom contains a toilet, shower, and sink. Bedrooms are furnished with a twin bed requiring extra-long twin sheets (double bedrooms will have bunkable beds), desk, chair, dresser, and closet. The living room is furnished with a loveseat, two chairs, two end tables, and one coffee table. Each room has overhead lighting.
