Men's Golf Places Ninth at Concord Invitational
03/29/07...Senior Bryan McHugh (Ebensburg, Pa.) shot an opening round 82 on Wednesday and an 83 on Thursday to finsih in a tie for 32nd place at the 2007 Concord (WV) University Invitational at Pipestem Country Club in Pipestem, WV. As a team, the Mountain Cats finished in ninth place.
Along with McHugh, senior Brad Kohr (Johnstown, Pa.) finished tied for 40th with a two-day total of 171, while senior Chad Kochis (Murrysville, PA.) tied for 48th with a 179. Junior Mark Steeves (Blairsville, Pa.) and sophomore Jake Machnik (Irwin, Pa.) finished 50th and 51st with 184 and 190, respectively.
Trevor Hedges' (Shepherd) won the individual championship by shoooting an opening round 72 and a second round 71 for a total of 143. John Ritchey (Concord) placed second with a 145 and Darcy Donaldson (Concord) finished third with a 148.
Concord's 593 won the team competition. Shepherd (WV) University finished second with a 610, followed by Fairmont State (WV) University (614), West Liberty State (WV) College (627), and Bluefiled (VA) College (638).
