Jami Oaks Wins High Jump at Cal (PA) Early Bird Invitational
03/24/07... Senior Jami Oaks (South Fork, Pa.) won the High Jump event with a jump of 5'4" to tie her Outdoor school record and lead the Pitt Johnstown women's track team at Saturday's California University (PA) Early Bird Invitational. Oaks also placed fifth in the Long Jump.
Oaks jump of 5'4" in the Long Jump scored her a first place finish, whille her jump of 16'3" in the Triple Jump was good enough for a fifth place finish. Junior Krista Britcher (Johnstown, Pa.) placed eighth in the Shot Put with a throw of 34'0". Britcher also finished 13th in the Discus (77'08") and 17th in the Javelin (86'07").
In the running events, sophomore Rachele Gentile (North Apollo, Pa.) was 11th in the 100m Hurdles (18.25) and 20th in the 400m (1.10.97). Freshman Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) placed 17th in the 100m (14.29) and 25th in the 200m (29.25), while freshman Katie Croyle (St. Petersburg, Pa.) was 18th in the 1500m (5:42.22) and 25th in the 800m (2:45.88).
There were no team scores provided for this invitational.
Pitt Johnstown travels to the Concord (WV) University Invitational on Friday.
