at Dickinson College Winter Invitational - 01/27/07

Track Opens Indoor Season With 8th Place Finish at Dickinson Winter Invitational

women's track & field team opened the 2007 indoor schedule with an eighth place finish at Saturday's Dickinson College Winter Invitational.

     Senior Erin Sines (Meyersdale, Pa.) placed seventh with a throw of 9.56 meters in the finals of the Shot Put to earn two points for Pitt Johnstown.  Freshman Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) and sophomore Rachele Gentile (North Apollo, Pa.) finished seventh and eighth, respectively in the 400-Meter Dash.  Zack had a time of 1:11.81, while Gentile ran a 1:15.58.  Coach Dye also got a ninth place finish in the 800 Meter Dashfrom freshman Katie Croyle (Petersburg, Pa.) with a time of 2:52.36.
     Dickinson finished in first place with 171.5 team points, followed by Gettysburg College (133.5 pts.), Messiah College (119.5 pts.), Juniata College (80.0 pts.), McDaniel (MD) College (67.0 pts.), Eastern Mennonite (VA) University (57.5 pts.), Goucher (MD) College (13 pts.) and Pitt Johnstown (5 pts.).
 
     Pitt Johnstown travels to the Marietta (OH) College Invitational on Saturday.
