High School Students to Benefit with Academic Review for SAT Exam
Article Body
Registrations are now being accepted for the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown SAT Super Series, an academic review for the SAT. The SAT Super Series helps remove the mystery behind the SAT exam and better prepares students for exam day.
Students are encouraged to enroll in the preliminary session being held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 22. Participants in this session will complete an abbreviated version of the SAT to identify specific areas that might need attention in order to improve their score. Both courses are being taught by UPJ instructors.
The Writing and Critical Reading Review will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 24. Dr. David Magill will review the written essay, sentence completion, vocabulary, and critical reading.
The Mathematics Review will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 3. Michael Oravec will review arithmetic, algebra, geometry, probability and statistics, and data analysis.
Seating is limited for these sessions and early registration is suggested. The Pitt PowerPrice is $129 for the series or $69 per course. In order to qualify for the Pitt PowerPrice, registrations and payments must be received by noon, Friday, January 26. Registrations received after January 26 will be $159 for the series and $85 per course. The registration/refund deadline is Friday, February 9. An on-campus lunch will be provided for all participants.
To register, contact the UPJ Outreach Office at 269-2099 or visit the office’s website at
www.upj.pitt.edu/outreach
for a registration form.
