The National Society of Leadership and Success has recognized the Society Chapter at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown as a recipient of the “On the Rise Award.”  This award is presented to chapters with a 20% rise in membership, as a result of successful chapter development.

Currently, 361 UPJ students are involved in the organization.  More than 10% of UPJ students are active in the Society.  The organization is in its third year and is now the largest student organization at the college.

The mission of the Society of Leadership and Success is to help individuals create the lives they desire by helping them discover what they truly want to do, and giving them the support, motivation, and tools to achieve their goals.

Founded in 1927, the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is a four-year, degree-granting college of the University of Pittsburgh.  The university offers more than 40 majors and is known for its engineering technology, education, humanities, natural and social sciences degree programs.  UPJ has been ranked “Third in the North” among public comprehensive colleges and universities, northern region, by U.S. News and World Report, America’s Best Colleges, 2007.
