Women's Soccer Falls, 4-2, at Home to Charleston

women's soccer team gave up three first half goals and suffered a 4-2 home loss to the University of Charleston (WV), Sunday afternoon.  Pitt Johnstown, which had its three-match win streak broken, is now 9-3-0 on the season.
     Charleston built a 3-0 halftime lead on goals in the 10th, 15th and 39th minute, before freshman midfielder Krysten Medzie (Clearfield, Pa.) got Pitt Johnstown on the scoreboard off of a cross from Lindsay Plowman (Apollo, Pa.) in the 48th minute.  However, Charleston made it 4-1 with a goal in the 54th minute, before Pitt Johnstown's Alyssa McKinney (Pittsburgh, Pa.) set the final score at 4-2 with an unassisted goal in the 80th minute.
     Pitt Johnstown outshot Charleston, 27-16 for the match, including holding a 14-8 advantage on shots on goal, but was unable to pull out the victory.
     Junior goalkeeper Anna Yarnall (Allentown, Pa.) made four saves for Pitt Johnstown, but took the loss and dropped to 9-3-0.  Charleston's Whitney Sharp made 12 saves and earned the win.
     With the victory, Charleston improved to 8-6-1 on the year.
     Pitt Johnstown travels to Penn State-Altoona on Wednesday and to Ohio Valley (WV) University on Saturday, before returning home to celebrate Senior Day against Chatham College on Wednesday, October 25 at 3:30 p.m.
