Women's Soccer Deals Mount Aloysius 11-0 Loss
09/20/06...Head Coach Crystal Dye's women's soccer team made it three consecutive wins with an 11-0 victory over visiting Mount Aloysius College, Wednesday afternoon. Senior forward Kellie Stevens (Davidsville, Pa.) scored three goals to help Pitt Johnstown improve to 5-1-0 on the year.
Stevens got Pitt Johnstown on the scoreboard with a goal at the 4:20 mark of the first half, before freshman midfielder Lindsay Plowman (Apollo, Pa.) made it 2-0 just over a minute later. Stevens finished her hat trick with two more goals in the first half. Freshman midfielder Mary Comerford (Greensburg, Pa.) tallied two goals, while Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.), Krysten Medzie (Clearfield, Pa.) and Chrissy Burnsworth (McKeesport, Pa.) all scored one goal apiece to give Pitt Johnstown a 9-0 halftime lead.
Freshman midfielder Kristin Kelly (Bethel Park, Pa.) found the back of the net in the 78th minute, before Plowman netted her second goal of the day at 88:42 to set the final score at 11-0.
Junior goalkeeper Anna Yarnall (Allentown, Pa.) faced just one shot on goal and made one save to improve to 5-1-0.
As a team, Pitt Johnstown outshot Mount Aloysius, 61-2 for the match, including a 30-1 advantage in shots on goal.
With the loss, Mount aloysius fell to 1-3-0 on the season.
Pitt Johnstown will host La Roche College on Sunday at noon and West Virginia Tech on Saturday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m.
