Men's & Women's Soccer National Statistics

Women's Soccer Ends Year as Nation's Top Scoring Offense;
Men Finish 11th in Scoring

Head Coach Crystal Dye's women's soccer team and Head Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cats, as well as several individuals, ranked among the Division II statistical leaders when the final 2006 NCAA statistics were released on Wednesday.  As a team, the women led the country in Scoring Offense at 5.19 goals per game, while the Mountain Cats finished 11in Scoring Offense at 2.83 goals per game.....(Men's National Statistics)  (Women's National Statistics)   
     In 16 matches played, the women's team scored 83 goals to average 5.19 goals per game, while the Mountain Cats averaged 2.83 goals per game (51 goals) in 18 matches played.  The women finished with a 12-3-1 overall record,a nd the Mountain Cats were 8-8-2.
     Individually for the women's team, freshman forward Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) finished second in the country in both Points Per Game (3.25 PPG) and Goals Per Game (1.38 GPG) and 25th in Assists Per Game (.50 APG).  Freshman forward Chrissy Burnsworth (McKeesport, Pa.) was fifth in Assists Per Game at .75 APG, and forward Kellie Stevens (Davidsville, Pa.) ended her senior season ranked 25th in Goals Per Game at .88 GPG.  In adition, Pitt Johnstown freshman midfielder Krysten Medzie (Clearfield, Pa.) was 13th in Assists Per Game (.63 APG.) and 28th in Points Per Game (2.13 PPG.).
