Head Coach Mary Krestar
Mary Krestar, head women’s cross country coach and assistant women’s track coach, graduated in 1995 from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Management and Finance. Coach Krestar was a member of both the cross country and track teams at Pitt-Johnstown. After graduating, Coach Krestar worked at the University of Pittsburgh as a Post Award Administrator and a Supervisor of Post Award Administration in Research Accounting. She then moved back to Johnstown where she began working for the Cambria County Drug and Alcohol Program as an Accountant. A year and a half later, Coach Krestar was named assistant track coach at the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center. After one season, Krestar was asked to coach Boys and Girls Cross Country for the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center. Since June of 1998, she has worked at Cambria County Children and Youth as a County Fiscal Operations Officer II, where she supervises two accountants and four fiscal technicians. Krestar was a Cross Country and assistant High School track coach for five years before accepting the women’s cross country and assistant track coaching position at Pitt-Johnstown. Coach Krestar currently serves as secretary of the Pitt-Johnstown Alumni Association and Chair of the Homecoming Committee. In 2004, she received the President’s Award for Outstanding Service to the Pitt-Johnstown Alumni Association. In addition, Krestar is a volunteer coach for the Mountain Top Track and Field Club in Cresson, Pa. She has one daughter, Amanda, who is ten years old and a member of the Mountain Top Track and Field Club.
