Personal Statement: "The Pitt-Johnstown Geology program has set me up for the real world of geology. The program made me think my way through the major (not "point and click").  Understanding what is behind the blackbox modeling programs is half the battle. The hands-on experience is second to none. As a point of note, I will always specify that I went through (survived?) Pitt-Johnstown's Geology program, as I feel it is a significant step above larger, more well known programs (this is justified by personal experience). Every employer that I have worked under has asked me if I know of any Pitt-Johnstown Geology alums looking for employment - unfortunately for the world there are just not enough of us!"
