Making Payment

Payments made by eCheck are offered at no charge to you. While the University does not accept credit card payments directly, we have arranged for a third-party vendor to accept American Express, Discover Card and MasterCard when payment is made online through PittPAY. You will be charged a non-refundable service fee of 2.75% by the vendor for this service. This fee will be in addition to tuition, fees, room, and board payments when you choose to pay by credit card. We invite you to take advantage of the EASY, FAST, AND SECURE WAY TO PAY ON-LINE!!

· Payment can be made by eCheck (electronic check) from a regular checking account, or by Discover, MasterCard, or American Express.   Checks issued from savings accounts, credit card companies, money market accounts, home equity loans, or other lines of credit cannot be processed as an e-check.  If you wish to make a check payment from one of these accounts, please print a copy of the e-bill and detach the remittance form at the bottom.  Mail the payment and the remittance form  to the address indicated on the remittance form or to the Pitt-Johnstown Business Office.

· Students can also authorize parents, guardians or other third party payers to view their eBills and make payments online.

· Students assign the login ID and password and provide it to the authorized individual(s).

· Students access the account at https://my.pitt.edu. Once logged in, students select Communities, then Student Services. The link to PittPAY is in PeopleSoft Self Service.

· Authorized Payers log in at http://student-info.pitt.edu using the Login name and Password provided by their student.

· Students and Authorized Payers can view and print a copy of the monthly eBill.

· Students and Authorized Payers can establish payment profiles for their convenience.

· Students will receive an e-mail at their official University of Pittsburgh e-mail account when eBills are available in Pitt PAY.

· Authorized Payers will be notified at the e-mail address they provide in PittPAY.

Students and Authorized Payers may elect to receive email confirmations of online payments made by the individual.

Existing Discover/MasterCard/AMEX regulations prohibit the University from making a refund to you in cash or by check when you made your payment by credit card and there is an adjustment made to the charges paid. When you pay by credit card and there is a reduction in the amount of your charges, we are required to credit the credit card account you used to make the payment. The vendor will not refund any portion of the service fee when you are refunded.

Payment of the statement "Total Amount Due," or "Payment Plan Due" received after the due date is considered late and the account is assessed a late payment fee.

    • Payments are always due on the 17th of the month following the statement date. The due date is clearly designated on each statement. Due dates falling on weekends or official University holidays, are moved to the next University business day.
    • Effective August 17, 2001, the late fee is $50.
    • In addition to the late payment fee, a financial hold, restricting future services, is placed after the second missed due date.
