New Student Welcome

On behalf of the entire Pitt-Johnstown Information Technology unit, I would like to welcome you to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.  We look forward to providing you with the technology services that will enhance your academic experiences at Pitt-Johnstown.

Student new to the campus often have many technology-related questions.  Printed information brochures are available at the Information Technology Lab Consultant Desk (2nd Floor of Blackington Hall) and the ID Center (115 Biddle Hall).  In addition, visit the Information Technology Web Site at any time to review the online information, meet the IT staff and learn more about the services that we provide.

I encourage you to consider the following suggestions to start using Pitt-Johnstown technology today:

  • Student ID Number - Each new student receives a Student ID Number for which uniquely identifies you to the University.  Have this number handy when you are on campus.  Bring it with you to Placement Exams and New Student Orientation.
  • Pitt-Johnstown Web Site - Visit the Pitt-Johnstown Web site frequently.  It is a great source of information, Pitt-Johnstown news, campus events and more.  Bookmark the site and visit it often.
  • University Email - Begin using your University email immediately.  All official correspondence will be sent to this email address.  Your University computer account is also your key to a variety of online services.
  • Online Services - A wide variety of online services are available to you both at the Pitt-Johnstown Web Site and via the University Portal (my.pitt.edu).  Have your University computer account ready to use when you need it.

If you have questions concerning Pitt-Johnstown technology resources, please feel free to contact me (or any of the IT staff).  You can submit your questions to us online at:  Ask IT
