Basketball Teams Ranked in NCAA Statistics;Men Still Lead in Least Personal Fouls Per Game 02/17/09...The Mountain Cat and Lady Cat basketball teams were ranked among the Division II leaders when this week's NCAA statistics were released on Tuesday. The Mountain Cats continue to lead the country in least amount of personal fouls per game (13.2). Individually, Lindsay Cale (Hummelstown, Pa.) ranks 14th in free-throw percentage, and Quinton Davis (Pittsburgh, Pa.) is 27th in the same category. Statistics were based on games played through Feb. 15... (NCAA Men's Stats) (NCAA Women's Stats) Through 23 games, Davis (Pittsburgh, Pa.) ranks 27th in free-throw percentage (86.3%) and 50th in field goal percentage (55.8%). Marcus Tullis (Johnstown, Pa.) ranks 33rd in field goal percentage at 58.3%. William Sharpe (Johnstown, Pa.) is 41st in Assists Per Game (4.9 apg.) and 71st in assist-to-turnover-ratio (1.82), and Patrick Grubbs (Turtle Creek, Pa.) is 69th in rebounding (8.1 rpg.). As a team, Head coach Bob Rukavina's Mountain Cats lead NCAA Division II in least amount of fouls per game at 13.2. Pitt-Johnstown is also fourth field goal percentage defense (38.2%) and assists per game (19.8 apg.), fifth in field goal percentage (51.1%), 12th in assist-to-turnover-ratio (1.35 atr.), 16th in scoring margin (14.3 ppg.), 19th in rebound margin (7.6 rpg.) 38th in blocked shots per game (4.2 bpg.), 40th in scoring offense (80.3 ppg.), and 53rd in steals per game (8.5 spg.) and 54th in scoring defense (66.0 ppg.). Through 23 games, Cale ranks 14th in free-throw percentage at 89.8%. Sophomore guard Sheena Aden's (Sandy Lake, Pa.) 53.7% field goal percentage ranks her 34th in the nation. As a team head coach Sasha Palmer's Lady Cats rank 23rd in assists per game (17.2 apg.), 29th in assist-to-turnover-ratio (.99), 45th in field goal percentage (44.0%). Pitt-Johnstown also ranks 46th in steals per game (10.9 spg.), turnover margin (3.39) and three-point field goal defense (28.9) and 68th in free-throw percentage (73.0%). NCAA national statistics are scheduled to be released weekly throughout the 2008-09 season.
