Basketball Teams Ranked in NCAA Statistics;
Patrick Grubbs Leads Country in Field goal Percentage
     03/18/10...The men's and women's basketball teams were ranked among the Division II leaders when this week's NCAA statistics were released on Tuesday.  The Mountain Cats lead the nation in field goal percentage and are second in least amount of personal fouls per game and fourth in assists per game.  Individually, Patrick Grubbs (Turtle Creek, Pa.) leads NCAA Division II in field goal percentage, while Sheena Aden (Sandy Lake, Pa.) is 50th in the same category.  Statistics are based on games played through March 16.  Final 2010 statistics will be released after the upcoming Elite Eight... (NCAA Men's Stats)  (NCAA Women's Stats) 
     Through 29 games, Grubbs ranks first in field goal percentage at 66.3% and 34th in rebounding at 9.0 rebounds per game.  Freshman guard Nick Novak (Murrysville, Pa.) is 35th in field goal percentage (57.1%) and 89th in assists per game (4.1).  Senior guard Andy Byer (Tire Hill, Pa.) is 29th in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.31) and 57th in assists per game (4.7), while junior guard Danny Branch (Washington, D.C.) ranks 55th in three-point field goal percentage (38.1%), 66th in three-point field goals per game (2.6) and 93rd in scoring (17.4 ppg.).
     As a team, Head Coach Bob Rukavina's Mountain Cats are first in field goal percentage (51.8%), second in least amount of personal fouls per game (13.6), and fourth in assists per game (20.0).  Pitt-Johnstown is also 21st in three-point field goal percentage (39.3%), 35th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.21), 38th in scoring offense (80.6 ppg.) and 45th in rebound margin (4.2).
     Through 28 games for the Lady Cats, Aden ranks 50th in field goal percentage (49.0%), while Qiuana Brown (Monroeville, Pa.) is 96th in assist-to-turnover-ratio (1.4).
     As a team, Head Coach Sasha Palmer's Lady Cats rank 18th in assists per game (17.3), 41st in assist-to-turnover-ratio (.92), 44th in three-point field goals per game (6.8), 47th in steals per game (10.8) and 52nd in free-throw percentage (74.1%).
