Pitt-Johnstown SAC Association Council Meeting

Present: Andrea Leibfreid, Judi McGuirk, Karla Garman, Marilyn Alberter, Nancy Brunberg, Barb Heider, Joan Keirn, Suzanne Kerchenske, Kate Kinsinger, Diane Lenio, Joyce Radovanic, Andrea Sadvari, Sharon Wilson
Joyce Radovanic made a motion to approve the January Minutes; Diane Lenio seconded the motion.
Andrea Leibfreid, Jeanne Susko, and Joyce Radovanic attended the JPBC Meeting. They discussed where Pittsburgh would tighten its budget if needed and if Gen. Ed is effective or not.
Windber Hospice sent a Thank You for the donation from the Holiday Project.
Andrea Sadvari reported on the Washington DC Trip, saying that the committee pulled
all the details together at their meeting. Update on the Washington DC Trip – 25 people are confirmed for the trip.Andrea Leibfreid and Joyce Radovanic are
collecting the registrations and payments for the trip. Judi McGuirk created and
sent the flier and bulk email to the campus. The Bus Captains are Vicki Biter, Barb
Heider, Karla Garman, and Andrea Sadvari.
Sharon Wilson ordered a certificate for Betty Lewis’s retirement.
Kate Kinsinger and Jaime Petsch are meeting to discuss ways for the staff to interact with the students. Old Business:
The Black and Gold Days to support the Pittsburgh Steelers was a success,
especially since they won the Super Bowl.
The SAC Night Out for February 8, 2006 had 45 employees saying they would attend.
Wellness Program – The committee met and decided to focus on Mind, Body, and Spirit. The new Head Chairman is Judi McGuirk. The meetings will be held on each Tuesday starting on February 28 and continuing until April 11, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. in 203 Blackington Hall. More information is to follow.
Andrea Leibfreid spoke with Deb Oliver about participating in Olympix - Xerox-Easter Seals, on Monday, March 6, 2006. It cost $175.00 per team, with five members to a team. Dr. Etheridge will sponsor one team. Barb Heider made a motion to approve and Nancy Brunberg seconded the motion. Andrea Leibfreid, Diane Lenio, Judi McGuirk, and Andrea Sadvari will be participating.
Marilyn Alberter will now hold the responsibilities of the SAC Association Web Page.
Suggested Fundraiser for the Family Holiday Project 2006 is Blanket Buddies from the American Red Cross. The SAC Association could purchase blankets and give them to the American Red Cross.
The May 10th SAC Association meeting is rescheduled for May 3, 2006.
Kate Kinsinger and Jaime Petsch had a meeting to discuss new ideas to get the staff members interact with the students. More information is to follow.
March 1st SAC Night Out has been canceled due to Ash Wednesday. Diane Lenio is looking for a new place, date, and time. A new date is needed for a Women’s Basketball game. The Men’s Wrestling match is scheduled for Friday, February 17, 2006.
Judi McGuirk asked how we, the SAC Association, could get more Staff members involved in our meetings. More planning is to come.
Barb Heider will look for SAC Scrapbook.

SAC Picnic on May 10, 2006 – Needs people to create the flier, games, and organize the food. Adjournment
