Lady Cats Roll to 87-67 Home Win Over Shepherd
Red-shirt freshman guard Crystal Andrews (Johnstown, Pa.) scored a game-high 18 points to lead five Pitt Johnstown players who scored in double figures in an 87-67 win over Shepherd (WV) University, Monday night in the Sports Center.  With the win, the Lady Cats have won eight of their last nine games and improved to 19-7 on the year.

     Hot shooting in the first half helped the Lady Cats put the game away.  Pitt Johnstown jumped out to a 55-36 halftime lead on 51.6% shooting from the field, including a perfect 7-7 from behind the three-point line and 16-16 from the free-throw line.
     Andrews, finished 6-11 from the field, 3-4 from three-point range and 3-4 from the free-throw line.  Andrews also had three rebounds, dished out a team-high six assists and made two steals.  Seniors Jaclyn Schirf (Loretto, Pa.) and Samantha Conner (Everett, Pa.) each had 16 points, while junior forward Jessica Zapf (Pittsburgh, Pa.) chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds and junior guard Allison Krischer (Johnstown, Pa.) collected 10 points to round all the double figures scorers.  Schirf and Krischer also pulled down five rebounds and made four steals apiece.  In addition, Schirf, Conner, Zapf and Krischer combined to shoot 20-20 from the free-throw line.  Red-shirt junior forward Shannon Reigh (Williamsburg, Pa.) had eight points on 4-5 shooting from the field off of Coach Gault's bench.
     With her three rebounds, Conner moved into 20th place place on the Lady Cat All-Time Rebounding List with 517 career rebounds, while Zapf eclipsed the 600-career rebound mark.  Zapf is currently in 16th place on the rebounding list with 603 rebounds.
     Pitt Johnstown, which never trailed in the game, shot 48.2% (27-56) from the field, 72.7% (8-11) from three-point range and 80.6% (25-31) from the free-throw line.  Shepherd ended the night 27-60 (45.0%) shooting, 5-20 (25.0%) from behind the three-point line and 8-12 (66.7%) from the free-throw line.
     Casey Landrum's 16 points and Krissy Grosselin's 14 points led Shepherd.  Molly Land added 12 point and six rebounds and Danielle Costello tallied 10 points and six rebounds for the Rams, who dropped to 13-12 on the season.
     The Lady Cats will finish the 2005-06 regular season with Senior Night on Wednesday, March 1 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sports Center against the University of District of Columbia.  Prior to the game, the Lady Cats will recognize seniors Samantha Conner and Jaclyn Schirf and red-shirt junior Shannon Reigh, who will also graduate this year.
