Lady Cats Suffer 103-86 Loss At East Region #4 Anderson College
Junior forward Jessica Zapf (Pittsburgh, Pa.) scored 24 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, and junior forward Jami Oaks (South Fork, Pa.) added a career-high 23 points, but East Region #4 Anderson (S.C.) College broke open a one-point halftime lead on its home floor and went on to a 103-86 win over Pitt Johnstown, Saturday afternoon.  Head Coach Jodi Gault's Lady Cats are now 16-7 on the season.

     Zapf, who finished 6-11 shooting from the field and 12-12 from the free-throw line, also had three assists and pulled down nine of her 13 rebounds on the offensive end.  Oaks was 8-15 from the field, 4-8 from three-point range and 3-4 from the foul line.  Red-shirt freshman guard Crystal Andrews (Johnstown, Pa.) scored 16 points, had five rebounds and dished out four assists, while senior center Samantha Conner (Everett, Pa.) rounded out the Lady Cats who scored in double figures with 10 points.  Senior guard Jaclyn Schirf (Loretto, Pa.) chipped in five points and a team-high six assists in the loss.
     After taking a 39-38 halftime lead, Anderson came out and outscored Pitt Johnstown 64-48 on 65.7% (23-35) shooting in the second half.  The Lady Trojans ended the day shooting 50.0% (37-74) from the field, while holding Pitt Johnstown to 44.3% (31-70) shooting.  The Lady Cats made 17 of their 20 (85.0%) free-throw and connected on seven three-pointers.  Anderson was 21-30 (70.0%) from the free-throw line and 8-22 (36.4%) from three-point range.
     LaShonda Chiles scored a game-high 26 points and Deidra Langston added 20 points and eight rebounds to lead six Lady trojans who scored in double figures.  Keana Boyd (17 points), Latrice Thomas (14 points), Mikala Fogle-Wilson (13 points) and Genia Holbrook (11 points) also scored in double figures.  Holbrook also pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds, while Chiles had six rebounds and a game-high 10 assists to help Anderson improve to 19-3.
     The Lady Cats continue their trip to South Carolina on Sunday with a game against Converse College.  Pitt Johnstown will play its next home game on Monday, February 20 when Shepherd (WV) University visits the Sports Center at 7:00 p.m.
