#4 Wrestlers Earn 24-11 Victory at #7 Ashland
     02/03/06...Head Coach Pat Pecora's #4-ranked Mountain Cat wrestlers jumped out to a 15-0 lead, highlighted by senior National Champion Thad Benton's (Claysburg, Pa.) fall at 141 lbs., before going on to a 24-11 victory at #7 Ashland (OH) University on Friday.  The Mountain Cats avenged a loss to Ashland at the 2006 National Duals and improved to 21-4 on the season. 
     After a 6-2 decision victory by senior National Runner-up Ryon Mazzocco (125 lbs.) (Cresson, Pa.) and an injury default win by sophomore Brandon Reasy (New Enterprise, Pa.) at 133 lbs., Benton put Pitt Johnstown up 15-0 with a fall over Zach Meissner at 3:31.  Ashland got back into the match with decision victories in the next three matches, until junior All-American Eli Garshnick (174 lbs.) (Armagh, Pa.) earned a 5-3 win over Clint Carmony to increase the lead to 18-9.  Sophomore All-American Mike Corcetti (184 lbs.) (Export, Pa.) followed with an 8-3 overtime win, before junior Mike Fowler (Carrolltown, Pa.) earned 7-3 win over Anthony Krugh at 197 lbs.  Ashland was then stripped of one team point for unsportsmanlike conduct, making the score 24-8 in favor of the Mountain Cats.  In the night's final match, Josh Ohl defeated two-time National Qaulifier Zach Majocha (Upper Burrell, Pa.), 5-3 to set the final score at 24-11.  With the loss, Ashland dropped to 6-5 on the year.   
     Pitt Johnstown travels to #18 University of Findlay (OH) on Saturday, before returning home to host NCAA Division I Slippery Rock University on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
