Lady Cats Jump to Sixth In NCAA East Region Poll
02/28/07...Head Coach Jodi Gault’s Lady Cats jumped from eighth to sixth in the East Region in the final Regional Poll before the tournament pairings are released on Sunday. Eight teams from the East Region will earn post-season tournament berths when the pairings are released on Sunday at 10:30 p.m. Rankings are based on games played through February 25.... The Lady Cats had a 16-7 record against Division II teams and a 15-6 record against East Region teams.
Glenville State (WV) College maintained the East Region's top spot in the women's poll with a 26-2 overall record against Division II teams and a 23-0 In-Region record. Pfeiffer (NC) University (21-3, 19-2) is ranked #2, followed by Barton (NC) College (19-6, 17-5), Anderson (SC) University (20-6, 19-5), California University (PA) (19-7, 18-6), Pitt Johnstown (16-7, 15-6), Indiana University (PA) (18-8, 18-8) and St. Andrews Presbyterian (NC) College (18-8, 18-6). West Liberty State (WV) College (18-9, 17-7) is ninth and East Stroudsburg University (23-3, 19-3) is tenth.
