Anthropology is a discipline that takes a comprehensive view of all aspects of the human condition, past and present. We study the biological characteristics of the human species, as well as a wide variety of cultures and societies all over the world, and try to figure out what it is that makes people tick, so to speak.

Anthropology is offered as an elective and as a component of a Broad Social Science Major. Currently, the Anthropology program includes the following courses: Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, North American Indian Cultues, Caribbean Cultures, Religion and Culture, and Anthropology of Women.

An excellent source of information about the discipline of Anthropology is the American Anthropological Association website at http://www.aaanet.org.
