10/22/05...The Mountain Cat soccer team suffered another one-goal loss Saturday afternoon. This time, visiting Ohio Valley (WV) University dealt Head Coach Eric Kinsey's team a 2-1 setback. Pitt Johnstown senior midfielder Brad Clingan (Scottdale, Pa.) scored a goal late in the second half to cut the Ohio Valley lead to one goal, but that was as close as Pitt Johnstown would get. The Mountain Cats are now 3-12-1 with two matches to play in the 2005 season.
The Fighting Scots jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Marwan Helal's goal in the 24th minute. Ohio Valley added another goal with nine minutes to play in the match, before Clingan took a pass from senior forward Bryan Rossin (McMurray. Pa.) and tallied Pitt Johnstown lone goal with 3:18 to play. Senior goalkeeper Steve Weimer (Scottdale, Pa.) made seven saves for the Mountain Cats. Ohio Valley, which outshot the Mountain Cats 11-10 for the match, improved to 4-12-1 with the victory.
The Mountain Cats host Point Park University for Senior Day on Monday at 4:00 p.m. Pitt Johnstown will finish the 2005 season at Shepherd (WV) University on Sunday, October 30.
