at Lebanon Valley College Tri-Match - 10/15/05

Lady Cat Volleyball Splits Matches at Lebanon Valley Tri-Match
Pitt Johnstown junior setter Sarah Davison (Grove City, Pa.) had 46 assists to lead the Lady Cats to a three-games-to-two win over Lycoming College in Saturday's first match at the Lebanon Valley College tri-match.  In Saturday's second match, Lycoming swept Pitt Johnstown three-games-to-none.  Freshman outside hitter Ashleigh Huey (Butler, Pa.) collected 11 kills and 16 digs in the loss.  The Lady Cats are now 10-13 on the year.
     The Lady Cats opened the day with a hard-fought 17-30, 33-31, 30-32, 30-24, 16-14 vin over Lycoming.  Along with Davis' 46 assists, freshman middle hitter Kayla Lape (Fishertown, Pa.) had 14 kills and freshman middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) added nine kills, seven blocks and three blocks assists.  Pitt Johsntown also got nine kills fromfreshman outside hitter Lara Groetzinger (Cumberland, MD) and 15 digs from junior defensive specialist Ashley Brant (Johnstown, Pa.).
     Pitt Johnstown wrapped up the day with a 23-30, 20-30, 20-30 loss to Lebanon Valley.  In addition to Huey's 11 kills and 16 digs, Davison chipped in 29 more assists and Brant added 15 more digs for Head Coach Linda Renzi's team.
     The Lady Cats return home to host Mount Aloysius College on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
