Lady Cat Volleyball Earns Split at Penn State-Altoona Tri-Match

Lady Cat volleyball team came away with a split at Saturday's tri-match at Penn State-Altoona on Saturday.  After sweeping Lake Erie College 30-22, 30-26, 30-18, Pitt Johnstown fell to Penn State-Altoona 22-30, 25-30, 23-30.  With the split, the Lady Cats are now 8-11 on the season. 

     Pitt Johnstown junior outside hitter Abbey Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) collected eight kills and 11 digs and freshman middle hitter Kayla Lape (Fishertown, Pa.) added nine kills in the sweep over Lake Erie College.  Junior setter Sarah Davison (Grove City, Pa.) had 28 assists, while junior defensive specialist Ashley Brant (Johnstown, Pa.) and freshman defensive specialist Katie Shadron (Ligonier, Pa.) each had 11 digs.
     In Saturday's second match, Hrescak chipped in six kills and 15 digs and freshman outside hitter Ashleigh Huey (Butler, Pa.) had six kills and 10 digs.  Davis added 19 more assists in the loss to Penn State-Altoona.
     The Lady Cats host Chatham College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Sports Center.
