As a Lady Cat 2004-05 marked the second straight season Shannon played in every Lady Cat game since red-shirting as a freshman two seasons ago. Several times, Shannon’s hot shooting gave Pitt Johnstown a spark. She averaged 3.9 points and 2.7 rebounds in 17 minutes per game off of Coach Gault’s bench. Shannon shot 45.8% (49-107) from the field and 87.5% (7-8) from the free-throw line as a red-shirt sophomore. She also dished out 11 assists, made 10 steals and blocked three shots. In two seasons at Pitt Johnstown, Shannon scored a career-high 12 points on 6-10 shooting from the field against West Liberty State (WV) College on Jan. 24, 2005 and grabbed eight rebounds against Indiana University (PA) on Jan. 7, 2004. In addition to her career-highs, Shannon tallied 11 points against West Virginia State University Feb. 7, 2005 and grabbed seven rebounds against Bloomsburg University on Jan. 31, 2004. Shannon also scored eight points on two occasions during the 2004-05 season and had five rebounds four different times. Through the first 55 games of her career, she has averaged 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 43.3% (87-201) from the field and 68.8% (11-16) from the free-throw line. The hard work and dedication over her first three years at Pitt Johnstown paid off for Shannon last season. Her good shooting and solid rebounding proved to be an asset off the bench. Shannon must continue to work hard to earn playing time in 2005-06. She has the talent to succeed at the Division II level. Shannon can score down low or hit a jump shot from the high post. She must also be an aggressive rebounder at both ends of the court to help the Lady Cats succeed this year. Shannon will play the small forward and power forward positions for Coach Gault this season. Shannon is a recipient of an Academic Leadership Scholarship at Pitt Johnstown. She is the daughter of Gregory and Ruth Reigh.
