Lady Cat Volleyball Earns Split at Philadelphia University Tri-Match
The Lady Cat volleyball team came away with a split at Friday evening's tri-match at Philadelphia University.  After falling 19-30, 25-30, 23-30 to Philadephia, Head Coach Linda Renzi's team rebounded with a 30-26, 30-24, 30-19 win over Philadelphia Biblical College.

In Friday's opening match, junior outside hitter Abbey Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) led the Lady Cats with eight kills and junior setter Sarah Davison (Grove City, Pa.) collected 22 assists, but it wasn't enough to defeat the host school.  Senior defensive specialist Lauren Hildebrand (Johnstown, Pa.) added 11 digs and freshman middle hitter Kayla Lape (Fishertown, Pa.) had three blocks.
Lape's 12 kills and Davison's 27 assists led the Lady Cats to a sweep over Philadelphia Bible.  Freshman middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) had three blocks, while Hrescak chipped in three service aces and Hildebrand had 10 more digs to help Pitt Johnstown improve to 7-9 on the season.
Pitt Johnstown travels to Point Park University on Wednesday and to PennState-Altoona for a tri-match with Lake Erie College on Saturday, October 8, before returning home to host the University of District of Columbia on Sunday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m.
