09/28/05...The Mountain Cat soccer team gave up a pair of first half goals and suffered a 2-0 loss at Slippery Rock University Wednesday night. Pitt Johnstown dropped to 2-6-1 on the year.
Slippery Rock jumped on the Mountain Cats for a goal three minutes into the match, before adding another one with seven minutes to play in the first half. Kraig Bruder scored the first goal, and Nick Christy tallied Slippery Rock's second goal. The Rock made these goals hold up, as Head Coach Eric Kinsey's squad was unable to beat Slippery Rock goalkeeper Chris Cook, despite collecting 14 shots. Pitt Johnstown senior goalkeeper Steve Weimer (Scottdale, Pa.) made seven saves in the loss. Slippery Rock, which had 23 shots on goal, improved to 5-5-1 on the season.
The Mountain Cats return home to host Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
