Men's Soccer Earns 1-1 Road Tie At La Roche College
  09/17/05...
After the Mountain Cats scored a goal  late in the first half to even the match, neither Pitt Johnstown nor La Roche College was able to find the back of the net the rest of the match, and both teams came away with a 1-1 double overtime tie Saturday afternoon.  The Mountain Cats are now 1-3-1 on the season.
La Roche jumped out to a quick, 1-0, lead 15 minutes into the match, until junior defender James Penn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) scored on a free kick to tie the score.  The teams battled back and forth the entire second half and two overtime periods, but neither was able to score.  Pitt Johnstown senior foalkeeper Steve Weimer (Scottdale, Pa.) made six saves to earn the tie and improve to 1-2-1 on the year.
The Mountain Cats travel to Mount Aloysius College on Sunday, before making a trip to North carolina to take on Wingate University and Lenoir-Rhyne College next weekend.  Pitt Johnstown will play it's next home match on Saturday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. against Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College.
